Want a fast, delicious, nutritious meal? Make Ahi Tuna steak. It takes just four minutes to make and it offers a lot of variety in how you want to prepare and season for different tastes. Ahi Tuna steaks can be expensive at $20 per pound. I found a great deal at my local Sprouts market. They sell Ahi Steaks for $8.99 per pound and many times it is on sale. That is when I buy a few pounds to keep in the freezer till ready. Also, Trader Joe’s has a good price on their frozen Ahi Tuna Steaks. The ones I prepared in this photo are from Trader Joe’s. I am not super excited for the color of the frozen tuna steaks, as I like the fresh pink color.
To start, keep the Ahi steaks in the refrigerator until ready to pan heat or grill.
Coat steaks with sea salt and olive oil. You can add a variety of seasonings to enhance the taste.
Heat pan to a high heat. It’s important that the pan is hot since the steaks will only be on each side for two minutes. If you do not pre oil the steaks then you want to put some oil in the pan.
Heat each side of the steak for two minutes each.
Let steaks sit for a few minutes to retain all the juices.
Steaks should be very pink in the middle. If you cook too long, the steak will cook through and be very tough to cut and eat.
