When I decided to stop the insanity of my poor eating choices, I hated giving up on my In & Out french fries. Truth be told, I don’t go to In & Out Burgers anymore as the temptation is too great. It was tough at first but I don’t miss it at all anymore.

Finding substitutes for foods I like has been a fun endeavor. Learning to make baked (not fried) sweet potato fries has become my new addiction (did I tell you have an addictive personality!) Thankfully most of my addictions weigh on the good things like walking everyday.
With only three ingredients (two which you most likely already have in your pantry) this is an easy recipe. Sweet potatoes are packed with nutrients.
Sweet potatoes are an excellent source of vitamin A (in the form of beta-carotene). They are also a very good source of vitamin C, manganese, copper, pantothenic acid and vitamin B6. Additionally, they are a good source of potassium, dietary fiber, niacin, vitamin B1, vitamin B2 and phosphorus.
When you go to the market you will see many types of sweet potatoes. The white ones usually say sweet potatoes and the orange ones say Yams. I have been told by a dietician that the white ones are better for you but the orange ones are great too.
I have tried both with this recipe and the only thing I found was the orange ones were somewhat sweeter when baked.
When talking about the oil to use. Olive oil is great but don’t use Virgin olive oil due to the high temperature the oven gets. I also love using coconut oil. It gives it a great taste with the sea salt.

- Sweet Potatoes (washed and peeled)
- Oil (Olive oil, coconut oil or canola oil)
- Sea salt
How to Make:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Wash and peel the potatoes. Carefully cut the potato into straw size fries. Add to a bowl and toss in the oil. Lay fries onto a baking sheet. Sprinkle with sea salt.
Bake for 20 minutes. Turn fries over and bake another 10 minutes.
