Imagine a world where each person had the same chance. Imagine if the color of our skin, the economic condition, the physical limitations and the country I live in would not have any bearing on opportunity.
We must teach and be an example of unity, fairness and service. As an educator and parent it burdens my heart to see children taught to hate, to divide, and to judge. It is not their innate belief, but taught by their parents. It’s usually not direct, but in small doses of words and actions they witness from their parents. It seem subtle, but over time it has a huge impact on a child’s understanding of our world.
Let’s put down our own taught injustices and end discrimination in this generation. Let’s let our children welcome all people into every door, opportunity, and position. Let’s give every child the resources so they can soar and make this world a better place.
It’s up to us!
“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.”
Martin Luther King Jr.
